I do not have direct experience with police brutality, as I am a white female. However, it is an extremely important issue, and I see it affecting both my immediate community as well as the entire country. For this work, I collected news headlines and quotes from people who are directly affected by the tragedy of police brutality. I believe that the fact that I do not have personal experience to speak from does not justify my silence, especially when the issue is a matter of life and death. I wanted to use quotes from those who did have personal experience, in order to create a work that speaks out against the injustice faced by so many.
